Steve was brought up and educated in Kenya before moving to the UK to attend London University to study for an Honours degree in Agricultural Economics.
Steve graduated in 1979 and spent five years working in the IP industry before joining Lysaght in 1989. Steve was instrumental in setting up the company's Eastern European practice during the early 1990’s and the development and expansion of our client base.
Until 2007, Steve managed the trade marks department and assisted Caroline van Dijk, the then-owner, with the general management of the business.
In 2004, Steve became a director of the company and took over the role of Managing Director in 2007.
Steve has chaired and served on numerous International Trademark Association (INTA) committees over the past 25 years, always emphasising the importance of securing and maintaining IP rights, particularly in Africa.
