Retirement of Martin Chinnery

Our senior Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, Martin Chinnery, will be retiring at the end of March 2024. This will end 28 years with Lysaght, during which time he has provided invaluable advice to clients and has been heavily involved in the development of intellectual property laws around the world.

Having worked in the field of trade marks for over 35 years, Martin qualified as a Trade Mark Attorney in 1991 and worked in London and elsewhere in Jersey prior to joining Lysaght in 1996.  He became a director and shareholder of the company in 2004, and has represented Lysaght at conferences and events all over the world.

Martin has also been a member of various INTA committees, and has written numerous articles for publications of many organisations such as PTMG, CITMA and INTA. His knowledge of trade mark laws and practices around the world is unrivalled, and his experience and technical expertise set the standard in the trade mark department, particularly when dealing with contentious matters.

We wish Martin all the very best in his retirement as a new chapter in his life begins.
