Samoa – Accession to international treaties

It has just been announced that Samoa has deposited its instruments of accession for the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement for the International Registration of Industrial Designs and the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement for the international registration of appellations of origin and geographical indications. The PCT and Hague Agreement will enter into force in Samoa on 2nd January 2020. The Geneva Act will enter into force after the accession of five eligible parties.

By acceding to the PCT, Samoa becomes the 153rd contracting party of this international treaty. It also becomes the 62nd contracting party of the Geneva Act (1999) of the Hague Agreement and the 72nd member of the Hague Union.
